New Version of International Classifications.

IPC (2016.01): New version of the International Patent Classification

The new version of the International Patent Classification [IPC (2016.01)] came into force on January 1, 2016.

The International Patent Classification (IPC), established by the Strasbourg Agreement 1971, provides for a hierarchical system of language independent symbols for the classification of patents and utility models according to the different areas of technology to which they pertain. The Classification is indispensable for retrieval of Patent documents in the search for “Prior Art”.

NCL 10-2016: New version of the Nice Classification.

On January 1, 2016, the new version of the 10th Edition of The Nice Classification (NCL) came into force.

The Nice Classification (NCL), established by the Nice Agreement (1957), is an international classification of goods and services applied for the registration of marks.

LOC (11): New version of The Locarno Classification.

The new Version of the Locarno Classification LOC (11) is proposed to come into force from January 01, 2017. The amendments and additions to the 10th edition of the Locarno Classification is now available on official website of WIPO.
